EXHIBITS OF SPAIN IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

One of the most important positions that Javier Morales has held in his professional life has been as the Commissioner of Crown Heritage (Royal Palace, Madrid) Exhibitions from Spain in the United States, in collaboration with the Prado Museum and other museums.
These exhibitions have been visited by their Majesties the King and Queen of Spain, and have been extremely successful with the public and the academic community.
Their aim has been to present great Spanish Art as a symbol of Western Culture and the values that Spain took to America.

1 - THE MAJESTY OF SPAIN. Jackson. Mississippi, 2000

The most important exhibition from Spain abroad: A total of 600 works of art. 550 from the Royal Palaces (vases, ivory, furniture, crockery, glass, bronze statues, Royal Gondolas, Goya tapestries, paintings etc.) 50 paintings from the Prado Museum, exact reproduction of two luxurious rooms in the Royal Palace and the recreation of others with its original decoration from the XVIII Century.
All of this to represent a forgotten era in history. The widespread presence of Spain in the Southern United States and the military aid, money and the sacrifice of soldiers that Spain provided to George Washington in the fight for independence. In remembrance of the Spanish colonials who founded cities in the Mississippi Delta and became part of the first generation of free citizens of the United States. Their descendants are now grouped together in The Isleños Association.
