Javier Morales started as a sculptor around 1979 almost incidentally. He had always been a passionate academic and observer of
Art and an incessant drawer. It was in a well known department store in Madrid where he accidentally saw a small piece of clay
chipped on one corner. It was the first time that he had held that sandy piece in his fingers and identified with it immediately.
He bought various pieces and that night created his first small sculptures.
His first lessons were given to him by a neighboring potter with whom he fired his first pieces of work in a rudimentary Arab
kiln. He still keeps them today.
He held his first exhibition in 1980 in a well known Madrid gallery.

Herewith we present some examples of terra-cotta and bronze sculptures created for his exhibitions or pieces that have been commissioned personally
